About this piece
A pirate costume built around a black velvet romper with a flocked taffeta jacket over the top. Gold front buttons, velvet and fringe epaulets and a sequin lace sash handle the captain part. It reads as a full character rather than a hat and a squint.
The romper carries the shape and the jacket adds the volume, in a 1X plus size cut. It is made for Halloween, and it holds its own in a room where half the costumes were assembled that afternoon.
